Chess Table PT2 Base and Finish
Here is the Chess table all done. I had several mishaps in this and had to correct them before I could release the final video. Main one being I had the Chessboard 90 degrees out of whack. Though it is not in the video I ended up cutting the top apart and turning the board 90 degrees and remaking the trays and outer edgeband. I'm not really a chess player so didn't realize it till a friend pointed it out. But it is fixed by the end of the video.

Building a Chess Table part 1 The Top
Переглядів 5579 місяців тому
I know it's been a long time since I have uploaded a video. I had hit a creators block and couldn't come up with an idea for a video. However by watching random YT videos I came across chess players, and thought why not build a chess table. So here we are with part 1, where I will make the table top. Enjoy! My friend Corey had a set of Congas he wanted refinished and actually requested a video of the process as well. So here it is How to refinish Congas. This method can only be used on solid wood congas, if you drums are plywood then you can't sand them the way I do here. I think those big dogs are worthless on that size of saw, for me anyway. I prefer the smaller ones, since they are closer together. I think they just work better. Maybe those big dogs would help more in a thick bark, but what limbs I use to cut never had a super thick bark that needed it. But I'm not a professional and never have been, so I sure could be wrong. Lol I loved the video. I just bought the G111 because I missed my Stihl ms200t and can't afford even a used one anymore. So I'm glad to see your clone saw is working so well. I'm looking forward to seeing or hearing about what your friend thinks about it and how well it works for him. 😎👍

I am a little confused with your comment. I rewatched this video to see what you were talking about and saw no point where I misused a tool. Then I took a look at your You Tube content and saw that you Have none. So may I suggest that if you have a problem with the way a person conducts a certain process you have content up PRIOR to that comment that shows your idea of the "proper way". Otherwise you only sound like another Keyboard Warrior. I have been welding, cutting and creating for well over 40 years. I do have an idea of what I am doing. But thanks for the engagement it really helps my channel.

Your very intelligent man. I loved this idea to the fullest. I wish you were close to me to make me one. I wheeled over 100 wheelbarrows wood about 300 ft in 5 different days. Lot work. Heavy to carry to. Lot walking involved. If I had this rig I could hook it up to my ride on and made the job alot easier. I don,t no how to make stuff and for sure don,t no how to weld. Take care bud. Hope you come up with more great idea,s for more video,s to come.

that dust hood is from a Parks planer, I have one on my Parks planer and I bought the hood directly from Parks back when they were still in business back in the 1980s. when I bought my planer in 1979 I had been looking for one of those Powermatics but had to make a move and got the Parks that became available instead. They are both great machines but I think I would still prefer the Powermatic. good video!
